Homeschooling: Amazon Adds 1100 Educational Films To Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video now has around 1,100 school films ready for streaming for children and teenagers. The video streaming service thus offers parents the opportunity to interactively expand the “homeschooling” that is often necessary during the corona crisis.

In the era of the coronavirus pandemic and in some cases closed schools, parents are faced with the challenge of organizing their children’s everyday school life within their own four walls. Amazon wants to support teaching at home and is, therefore, bringing around 1100 school films to its in-house Prime Video platform. The “School Films on the Net” was developed in collaboration with Studio Hamburg and JPP Medien. According to their own statements, the films and series are based on the educational plans for primary and secondary schools.

Almost all school subjects are covered by the films

The instructional films are primarily suitable for tutoring, self-learning, and homeschooling up to the Abitur and vocational school. The subjects covered include mathematics, German, English, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, and even digital science. The program also includes two to twelve-minute films on the subjects of music, sports, society, technology, and deaf learning. The entire range can be found on the Amazon Prime Video campaign page, which has been activated for this purpose.

The “free” streaming of educational films is possible for all those who have an active Amazon Prime subscription. In addition to free shipping from the online retailer, this also includes access to the Prime Video streaming platform. If you are interested in school films for elementary school students and young people but do not yet have a corresponding subscription, you can currently try out the Amazon service for 30 days free of charge. After the test phase, 7.99 euros per month or 69 euros if paid annually. All the advantages of premium membership can be found on the Amazon website.
