CEO of Honor, George Zhao, earlier had a detailed interview with a local Chinese media. The CEO outlined several challenges coming in way of the company. During the interview, the CEO also shared several plans for the future.
George Zhao said that the company is partnering with Qualcomm to develop a Snapdragon 888 smartphone, which a part of the Magic series. The key takeaway of the discussion was the claim that the new series will be far better than the Huawei Mate and Huawei P phones.
Zhao told the media that the farewell from Huawei happened in a very polite manner, including a farewell party and speech from Ren Zhengfei, Huawei CEO. Honor will now go its own way and has started negotiating terms with AMD and Intel about the upcoming Honor Magicbook laptops.
The CEO didn’t speak of any particular devices, the Honor executives focussed on the challenges ahead of the brand, including relocating to a new office, new teams, independent R&D, etc.
However, Zhao did establish that the new devices will offer better camera and processing features, as the team is now working with external partners like Qualcomm and Google.
