HONOR to launch first Foldable smartphone globally with snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The quest for innovation in tech can’t get over. Many companies are dipping their toes for the production of a new smart product i.e., foldable phone.

Honor is another company that announced its first foldable smartphone along with the timeframe of its launch and availability. It is said that the new foldable smartphone by Honor will be available globally. Additionally, some recent news has uncovered that it will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Last month, Honor announced its dual flagship strategy. It unveiled that a regular flagship phone, as well as a foldable flagship phone, will be launched outside of China in Q1 2023. Magic4 Pro is said to be the current flagship phone of the company. Guesses are that Magic5 Pro will be introduced as its successor. Additionally, HONOR Magic V was the first foldable flagship. Now a Magic V2 is expected as its successor.

In actuality, the Magic V was launched in China only. So, the said name opted for the device. But, now, owing to the announcement of the company we can expect a different name for the upcoming foldable smartphone. Furthermore, the source mentions that ‘Piaget’ is chosen as the codename of Honor Magic5 Pro. Where the Magic4 Pro was codenamed ‘Lange’. Yet there is no official confirmation on the codenames.

Both new flagship smartphones are expected to launch in China first. Followed by China, they will be introduced in Europe. The global launch will follow after that. Apart from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, some other high-end components can be made part of the new flagship smartphones. Comparatively, Magic4 Pro had a huge performance for cameras, 100W wired and wireless charging, and other additional features. It will be interesting to see how the latest version beats the Magic4 Pro.
