How to prevent Facebook from spying on you

Facebook knows more about you than your friends and family members. Because it has all the access to your mobile phone and is tracking all of your daily activities. Facebook has all of your private information like; where are you going? Whom are you meeting with? Whom are you talking with? And much more…

Here’s how you can secure your privacy online and not letting Facebook know much about you. Follow the steps;

Step 1: Turn off your location tracking. It will prevent the Facebook app from accessing your current location. The Android or iOS Facebook can easily track you because it has all the access to your GPS. By turning location tracking off, you can prevent Facebook to access your location.

Go to setting > Account Setting or Permission Manager > Location and disable that option for the Facebook app.

Step 2: Turn off your microphone access for the Facebook app. When your phone is in standby mode even then Facebook can easily record your voice through your phone’s microphone. I don’t think the Facebook app needs your microphone access for any solid reason, but the Messenger app by Facebook needs your microphone access for calling feature.

Go to setting > Account Setting or Permission Manager > Microphone and disable that option for the Facebook app.

Step 3: Turn off Facebook’s app access to your mobile messages. Facebook tracks your phone messages and used the gathered data for advertising and other purposes. Obviously, your messages only belong to you, so that’s why you should keep that access disabled for the app.

Go to setting > Account Setting or Permission Manager > Messages and disable that option for the Facebook app.

Step 4: Turn off call logs access for the Facebook app. Facebook tracks your calls logs and [maybe] even calls through the Facebook app. After getting the data Facebook decides how many people you are connected with, and gives you friend suggestions. So, turn off this access to prevent Facebook from accessing your personal call logs.

Step 5: Do not click on Facebook’s “Protect” button or feature. When you use Protect feature offered by Facebook, it downloads the app on your device which is effectively like installing spyware. Facebook can easily spy on you, while you are thinking that you are protected.

Step 6: Try to publish your post only with “Friends” to avoid your personal information being visible to everyone using Facebook. When you publish your post publically, it helps hackers and other suspicious accounts to gain your personal information.
