5G technology is being tested by many technology giants and Huawei is also among them. It is planning to launch it as soon as it could. But it appears that Huawei would not be able to proceed with the launch of the 5G technology in New Zealand as the nation’s international spy agency has placed a ban on Spark from using Huawei’s device in its 5G upgrade. Security concerns are the reason for not permitting the Huawei equipment to be used in the country.
Banning Huawei 5G is a wrong decision as it would not just slow down the overall 5G process, but it would also be affecting the economic trading of the country as well.
This is not the first time that a ban has been placed on Huawei, back in the month of August Australia had also barred the Huawei 5G activities owing to security concerns. The decision has come as an utter disappointment for Tough Spark however at the same time is definite that it is all set to introduce the 5G network by July 2020.
In the month of March, Huawei and Spark displayed a 5G test location for the publicity and the ceremony was attended by the Broadcasting Minister—Clare Curran.
As per some analyst, this ban would have economic effects for New Zealand as China is its biggest trading partner. Huawei said that even if they would not be included in the launch of 5G technology in New Zealand, the technology would be made in China. It also added that this decision to ban would not just slow the process upgrade but would also slow down the competition.
Earlier Conaway’s bill suggested a ban barring branches of the United States government from working with the service providers that incorporate the use of equipment bought from Huawei or ZTE owing to security concerns. A new bill also bars the US government from buying equipment from Huawei and ZTE.
