Huawei commemorates reaching 100 million HarmonyOS 4 devices

In an attempt to displace Android, Huawei released HarmonyOS, their operating system, in 2019. Since then, the business has been working on updating the system to recapture some of the smartphone market. The next-generation operating system HarmonyOS enables communication and cooperation amongst smart devices.

Notably, the operating system is used in smartphones, TVs, and even cars. Recently, the company announced that the OS is now available on 100 million devices, including both new and updated ones. The new numbers were recorded in just 87 days. It means that around 1.1 million installs were recorded per day.

The company took to its Weibo pages to announce the news. The news was shared on Huawei and HarmonyOS accounts. Reportedly, the announcement was followed with modesty without too much fanfare. This company is undoubtedly headed in the right direction with the operating system, but we are not sure if it will be successful in the Western smartphone markets with it.

The company has shared a list of 69 devices, comprising smartphones, tablets, and TVs, that will receive HarmonyOS 4 updates. Hopefully, the company will release the list of global devices that will receive the new OS updates once it is done with local devices. Currently, the only device in the international market from the company that features HarmonyOS 4 is the Huawei Watch GT 4. HarmonyOS 3 device software updates have been essentially nonexistent.
