Huawei Mate 20 Pro will come with 6.9-inch display as Huawei Orders AMOLED panels from Samsung

The Korean smartphone manufacturer and supplier has reportedly inked a new deal with Huawei in which the company is going to supply AMOLED screen panels to Huawei.

Huawei has reportedly placed an order of 6.9-inch flat AMOLED panels to continue its smartphone production—The Bell reported. Samsung is quite famous in developing and selling LED, OLED and AMOLED display panels to other smartphone makers, according to Business Korea Samsung holds 43% of display market share and it’s the top supplier in the mobile display category.

The order placed by Huawei of 6.9-inch AMOLED panels is most likely to be used by the end of fourth quarter of the first quarter of 2019, the said supply would be used in Pro version of Huawei’s upcoming Mate 20 series, the sources said.

If this proves right which is quite likely to be, then Huawei has put its Mate 20 Pro version in a direct competition with Samsung’s Note 9 and Apple’s next iPhone which is expected to sport 6.45-inch screen.

The larger screens are likes of the Chinese market as compared to anywhere else, Huawei’s choice of 6.9-inch screen is more focused on Chinese mobile market, however, the company may launch different sizes for different markets. The Chinese language requires large text area due to the Chinese characters hence; the large displays are welcomed in the Chinese market.

It’s worth mentioning that Huawei has not explicitly indicated the order is for Mate 20 series, it could be for something else, but most probably Huawei is cooking a new device which is likely to hit the market by the fourth quarter of 2018 and it cannot be anything other than Mate 20 pro.
