Huawei Officially Launches Mate X for 16,999 Yuan Available From November 15

Huawei has organized its product launch conference in Shenzhen Putian headquarters today, the Chinese manufacturer has officially launched Mate X for 16,999 Yuan which roughly translates to $2400.

This is the most expensive smartphone Huawei has ever released, the phone would be officially available from November 15, Huawei’s Mate X price was already released by the company along with its full specifications. However, the device was not available at the time of the announcement in February, the company promised to release it sometime in November.

The 5G enabled foldable phone adopts four-layer structure design as you can see in the image, the top layer is screen protection layer of polymer material, the 2nd layer is a flexible screen, the 3rd layer is soft plastic support and the bottom layer consists of rotating shaft.

Huawei says that rotating shaft is the core part of Huawei Mate X which is quite important, Huawei has worked hard on the rotating shaft to provide seamless user experience in folding and unfolding the phone.

The phone supports both SA and NSA 5G networks as well.

Huawei Mate X Specifications

Huawei Mate X supports dual SIM, dual 5G networks, runs on Android 9.0 with EMUI 9.1, the chipset comes from one of Huawei’s homegrown chips which is HiSilicon Kirin 980 (7nm).

Mate X has a 6.6-inch AMOLED display when folded and expands to an 8.0-inch OLED display when unfolded. It comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The device is equipped with a quad rear camera with 40MP+16MP+8MP+TOF 3D camera, you can also record videos at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps. Battery wise it has some notable features with Non-removable Li-Po 4500 mAh battery, Fast battery charging 55W support and Huawei SuperCharge (85% in 30 min).

In the UK, as reported earlier 3UK would be selling Huawei Mate X, however, the price for the device in the UK is not clear yet.
