Install Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool For PC Protection

Downloading the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830) protects your PC from viruses, malware, and other malicious programs. The compact software with the somewhat bulky name is also known under the English name Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool or MRT or MSRT for short. It checks Windows for active malware and removes them from the system. The software is currently available in version 5.89 (May 2021).

Download & installation

Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool runs without installation. Users do not have to make any settings but can choose between three scan variants. In addition to the “Quick Check”, a “Full Check” and a “Custom Check” are also available.

Find Malicious software

With the Microsoft Windows tool for removing malicious software, the Redmond-based group provides an additional protective measure in addition to conventional virus scanners for Windows systems. The anti-malicious code tool checks the computer for infections with certain, widespread, malicious software such as worms and Trojans and, if necessary, assists in removing the malware from the system.

It is important to know that the tool can only detect and remove active malware. To keep the program up to date, Microsoft usually releases a new version every second Tuesday of the month. If there are acute threats, the software is also brought up to date on an unscheduled basis.

Two Software For More Security

Anyone who wants to protect themselves against malware must, first of all, install an antivirus program. With the Microsoft Windows tool for removing malicious software, however, Windows users receive additional protection that takes effect when classic antivirus software is unable to detect or remove threats.

Note: If a threat or an error is registered, the program sends a report to Microsoft. According to the group, however, no information is transmitted that would allow conclusions to be drawn about the system or the user. If desired, the reporting function can also be deactivated completely.
