Apple is planning to roll out iOS 16.5 publicly next week. The information was released via an iOS update account on Twitter that provides information regarding Apple’s release. As per information via today’s tweet, the latest upcoming iOS 16.5 release had its 20F65 developed by developers.
Before Apple released iOS 17 at WWDC in June, iOS 16.5 had been in beta testing since late March and was expected to be a modest software update. The Apple News app now includes a sports category, and Siri can now start a screen recorder. These are the only two major additions or modifications that have been found for the iPhone thus far.
With iOS 16.5, Apple has updated the News app to include a Sports option that gives you quick access to information about your favorite teams, leagues, and players. As Apple continues to invest more in sports content across its services, it is now shown more prominently where it previously appeared in the Today tab.
Asking Siri to begin a screen recording is a simple but useful addition to iOS 16.5 that was made possible. Saying “Hey Siri, start a screen recording” will allow you to begin filming your iPhone’s screen. You may then ask Siri to pause the recording at any time. After turning on the option in Settings, Control Centre, you may still launch a screen recording from Control Centre.
