iOS 17 Showcases New Health, Wallpapers, and Wallet App
Apple will not be presenting iOS 17, the next iPhone operating system version, until June at this year’s World Wide Developer Conference WWDC. Until then, you’ll have to be content with rumors and leaks – there’s now a second look at them.
It’s an interesting insight into the improvements and design changes of iOS 17. New mockups have now appeared that allegedly show revised elements of iOS 17. These include background images, the Health app, and the Wallet app, which are set to undergo a number of changes with iOS 17.
The images were published by @analyst941 on Twitter. Information about iOS 17 has been distributed via this account for some time. Accordingly, the previously known rumors have now been implemented in mockups.
Background image overview and more
What is new is a new grid-based user interface for wallpapers, which can now display a total of nine background images at the same time.
Each wallpaper thumbnail can be removed from the grid via a delete button in the top left corner. There is a share button in the single view on the left. The feature follows rumors of lock screen customization in iOS 17, which will allow users to share their lock screens with others.
The next batch of images concerns the wallet app under iOS 17. The wallet app now gets a new search bar that appears when you swipe down on the screen. The app will be organized in a cleaner and simplified way with separate sections for saved cards, keys, IDs, etc. There will be a dedicated section for Apple Cash and the recently introduced savings account. Lastly, there are mockups of the health app. The favorites area has been redesigned for this purpose. A map-like overview is used to display various data such as heart rate, sleep, weight, etc.
