iPhone 12 Dummy Leaks Show Flat Edges And Larger Notch

The next iPhone is coming in autumn and September is traditionally the month of the launch of new Apple smartphones. But in 2020 nothing is normal, that is why a delay cannot be ruled out. However, everything is as before with the topic of leaks.

Because, as always, in the run-up to the release of a new iPhone, there is high activity in the rumor mill, new leaks come weekly and sometimes even daily. These are not always actually credible, but given the huge competition among leaks, it is quite likely that what is real and what is not will quickly crystallize. Now CAD drawings (computer-aided design) have appeared on Twitter. These are usually used by case manufacturers to prepare for an upcoming smartphone. This means that the basic form is shown quite precisely, but some details are not.

Notch is actually smaller in reality

9to5Mac explains this using the Notch example: The size of this notch only plays a subordinate role for the case manufacturers, which is why CAD drawings and models do not necessarily show the right size – because the iPhone 12 is supposed to offer a smaller Notch, at least earlier reports claim. The models and the molds made from them do not take into account the additional time of flight sensor on the back. This is because Apple will probably not change the basic shape of the camera hump here either.

So revolutionary changes are not to be expected, but that does not mean that there are none. The leaks show that Apple apparently plans to use “flatter” edges on the iPhone 12, most recently there was a rounded design for Apple smartphones. The model for this is certainly the exterior of the iPad Pro, which should also have an impact on the next newly designed iMac.
