iPhone 14 Pro design in final stages Foxconn initiates test production

According to media reports, Apple has completed development and design work on the iPhone 14 Pro. For example, the first test production is currently starting at the largest supplier Foxconn. There is also evidence that not all models are manufactured here.

Foxconn starts test production for iPhone 14 Pro

As usual, there’s already a pretty good idea of what Apple plans to do with its smartphone lineup this year. A look at the WinFuture iPhone special shows that Apple plans to say goodbye to the notch, upgrade the cheaper models, and make the iPhone 14 Pro the camera king. The Taiwan Economic Times (via MacRumors) now reports that the company is taking an important step here.

That’s why Apple recently ordered Foxconn to start test production of the iPhone 14 Pro. In the process of the so-called New Product Introduction (NPI), mass production is meticulously prepared according to a predefined schedule and any design errors are identified. It’s also clear that at least the top model has left Apple’s development and design department behind. The report provides a few more interesting details: Luxshare, another Apple contract manufacturer, is not currently involved in production testing for the iPhone 14 Pro. Apple would pursue the plan to have the high-end iPhone 14 models produced by Foxconn, while Luxshare is only allowed to provide the basic models.

Without notch and with an old character

All available information indicates that Apple wants to present one of the biggest redesigns of recent years with the iPhone 14. Previous leaks suggest that the design is heavily inspired by the iPhone 4 and 5 models. In addition, Apple seems to be saying goodbye to the characteristic notch in favor of a display cutout. Leaker Jon Prosser of Frontpagetech recently gave a good impression (see above) of the iPhone 14, but the hole in the screen would be a little more quirky in favor of FaceID.
