Realme Plans Fastest Charger 200-watt

Smartphone batteries have come a long way and chargers can do more and more at once. Now there are indications that Realme wants to set a new record for fast charging. With a power of 200 watts, they want to offer the “fastest smartphone charger in the world”.

Realme to launch fastest charger with 200 watts

Smartphone manufacturers like to trump each other in various areas: Realme managed to set records with charging technology several times in the past and was, among other things, the first company to demonstrate fast charging with 125 watts about two years ago. The company has now announced that it will celebrate another charging premiere at Mobile World Congress 2022 (MWC), which begins on February 28.

At the industry fair in Barcelona, they want to bring nothing less than ‘the fastest smartphone charger in the world’. The company’s development department had already proposed a 200-watt charger last year, but a corresponding product had not yet hit the market. The announcement of the presentation at MWC 2022 is accompanied by a report from Gizmochina, which gives a first impression of the hardware. Outwardly, the “fastest charger” has a familiar look in white plastic, but the photo also provides information about the model number and power. Accordingly, the charger is given the identifier VCK8HACH and can provide a maximum output of 200W (20V-10A). In addition, it is confirmed here that USB PD (Power Delivery) is supported, but with significantly limited power (45W at 15V-3A, 20V-2.25A).

No model in sight yet

It remains to be seen which model will actually use the 200-watt output power. The presentation at MWC 2022 should take place together with the international model of the Realme GT2 Pro, but it only supports fast charging with up to 65 watts.
