iPhone 14 Upgrade Rumors Suggest More RAM and 120Hz Display

There is a lot of new stuff from the rumor mill about the upcoming iPhone 14. Accordingly, the cheaper models will also benefit from 120 Hz displays and get more RAM. The Pro models also have exciting specs.

models without Pro

The iPhone 14 will not only look different than its predecessors, it will also tick differently inside – we have already been able to provide a first look at the potential exterior. For anyone who is also interested in the rumors about built-in hardware, non-official sources now want to be able to reveal a whole range of possible components. We took a closer look at analyst Jeff Pu’s statements about the current MacRumors reported.

Pu therefore wants to be able to confirm that all iPhone 14 models will be equipped with a ProMotion display – this is reserved for the Pro models in the current iPhone 13 series. For the cheaper models, the step towards a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz would definitely be conceivable, especially because the Android competition has also significantly upgraded here. There is also good news for the non-Pro models when it comes to RAM: According to the analysis, both the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max will have 6 GB of RAM, 2 GB more than their direct predecessors. However, Apple has rejected a further increase in the working memory in the Pro models for “cost reasons”, which means that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max should also remain with 6 GB of RAM.

Advantages of the Pro models

However, several sources agree that the Pro models will be equipped with a new main camera with 48 megapixels. On the spec sheet, that would be the biggest resolution upgrade a new iPhone camera has ever received – and here, too, Apple is facing increasing competition. Last but not least, Pu then provides statements about the main memory: Apple is said to want to increase the minimum memory to 256 GB for the Pro models.
