iPhone and iPad receives iOS 14.4.2 whereas Apple Watch gets watchOS 7.3.3

Apple released iOS 14.4.2 for the iPhone and iPad, whereas for the Apple Watch, the company released watchOS 7.3.3.

This time the company didn’t bring any updates. Instead, it’s merely addressing a critical security flaw that came with WebKit. Apple explains the issue:

Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to universal cross-site scripting. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

The company suggested users update their iPhones and iPads as soon as possible.

The new version is available for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation).

iOS 14.4.2 comes ahead of iOS 14.5, which is expected to bring some new features. The most striking feature is the ability to unlock an iPhone using the connected Apple Watch.

Additionally, this upcoming update will also introduce the App Tracking Transparency feature, which will require developers to request user authorization to access app-related data for tracking the user or the device.

To update the recent security patch, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
