iPhone SE 4 Comes With Notch Design in Spring 2025

The fourth-generation iPhone SE is set to hit the market in spring 2025, likely becoming the most affordable Apple smartphone yet. According to well-known market observer John Posser, the device will bring back the “notch,” a design element last seen on older iPhone models.

Apple Cuts Costs for the iPhone SE 4 by Reusing Components

To keep the iPhone SE 4 affordable without sacrificing profit margins, Apple is expected to stick to its tried-and-true strategy: combining components and technologies from previous models with cost-effective materials and a familiar design. This approach minimizes development and production costs, making it easier for Apple to offer a budget-friendly entry point into its ecosystem.

However, the trade-off is clear—customers opting for the SE 4 won’t get the latest in performance or display technology. As reported by Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), the iPhone SE 4 will not feature the “Dynamic Island” design seen in Apple’s latest models. Instead, it will reintroduce the “notch,” the wider cutout at the top of the screen.

A Throwback Design Inspired by the iPhone 14

Rumors suggest the iPhone SE 4’s design will closely resemble that of the iPhone 14, differentiating it from Apple’s newer models, which now all feature “Dynamic Island” cutouts in their OLED displays. This nostalgic design choice is likely to appeal to budget-conscious customers who don’t mind foregoing cutting-edge features.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to launch in April or May 2025, giving potential buyers a relatively short wait before Apple officially unveils its next budget-friendly offering. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting addition to Apple’s lineup!
