Islamabad schools focusing on ICT with government help

A MOU signing ceremony of the stage II of venture “Establishment of Computer Labs in Government Girls’ Schools in Islamabad Capital Territory” occurred at MOIT today. Minister for IT and Telecom, Mrs. Anusha Rahman and Minister of State for CADD, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary saw the ceremony.

The signing function was held at Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom (MoIT) where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was marked between Universal Service Fund (USF)/MOITT and the Federal Directorate of Education (CADD), for stage II of the venture for establishment of Computer Labs in 119 Government Girls’ Schools in Islamabad. President USF, Mr. Haaris Chaudhary marked the MOU with Director General of Federal Directorate of Education.

Through Phase II of this venture, cutting edge ICT offices and prepared human asset will be given to 119 young ladies’ schools of Islamabad Capital Territory. According to the venture subtle elements, 119 educators will be enlisted to prepare 85,581 students.

This venture is being run in collaboration with Microsoft. Which will later confer PC specialized technical abilities including coding and cloud computing and so forth to students. It intends to benefits the young ladies at these schools by encouraging computerized coding abilities. This will help in building an early stage inclination for ICT related professions.

The venture is required to enable these young ladies by furnishing them with present day IT information. In turn it will open the gateways of the IT segment to them. Through stage I of the venture, PC labs are being set up in 107 schools in Islamabad Capital Territory.

Spokesperson for IT and Telecom said that the venture will enhance the lives of numerous young ladies by furnishing them with ICT abilities. She additionally stated:

ICT is the lever of economic progress. We are using this lever to empower the girls from the marginalized sections of society. Through this initiative, we aim to help girls’ students by making them computer literate and bringing them at par with students elsewhere in the world. She said that this programme for girls will also help to reduce the gender disparity.

On the event, Minister of State for CADD expressed gratitude toward every one of the partners for their responsibility regarding the venture, and said that the venture will help in connecting the IT and training hole between the urban and country regions of Pakistan.
