It seems that the Apple Car project is dead

For several years, we have been hearing about an electric car from Apple. We have some bad news for users who were eagerly anticipating one such product from Apple. Well, according to a trusted publication, the project of the Apple car is dead.

The recent information comes from Bloomberg. Reportedly, the company shared the news about the cancellation of the Apple Car project with its employees. The report includes references to people aware of the matter.

According to reports, Apple COO Jeff Williams and Apple Car executive Kevin Lynch disclosed the information within the company. Many workers on the automobile project would be moved to the AI division, according to the two executives. However, Bloomberg also stated that there would be layoffs. According to details, in the last few weeks, the top executives of the company took the decision to abandon the project.

In addition to this, some other reports claim that the company opted to debut its Apple car at some point in 2028. It was the company’s decision to postpone the project. Furthermore, the company decided to downgrade the self-driving capabilities. They were thinking to reduce the capabilities from level four to level two.

There were rumors that the Cupertino corporation was considering a $100,000 price tag. Still, it ends a project that lasted for almost ten years. According to rumors, Apple hired a large number of staff members from automakers including Mercedes and Tesla to help jumpstart the project in 2014. But along its history, there were also a number of changes in its leadership.
