HONOR is now developing a smart ring, following Samsung’s lead

It seems like the smart ring market will experience growth in the next few years. At the beginning of this year, Samsung announced its Galaxy Ring. It was quite expected that other smartphone companies will follow the trend and it is happening. The Chinese company Honor has now unveiled its plans about a Smart ring. According to the company’s CEO, George Zhao, the company is working on a smart ring. He shared the news during a group briefing at MWC 2024.

Zhao reportedly stated, “Inside, we have this kind of solution, now we are concentrating on that part (sic), so you can have the HONOR Ring in the future.” No further details were shared by the executive. He added that a smart ring is a part of Honor’s wider health strategy. In any case, HONOR has competition in this market from both Samsung, a recent entry, and established player Oura.

This year HONOR flip phone is coming

Furthermore, the executive shared that the company is also working on its first clamshell foldable phone. He added that the flip phone will launch later this year. According to Zhao, the flip phone has reached the final stage in internal testing. Well, this is not for the first time that we have learned about an Honor flip phone. In July 2023, Honor’s Middle East and Africa president unveiled that the company is working on a flip phone. He asserted that it could arrive at some point in 2024.

With its new offering, Honor will mark its entry into the flip foldable market. In the international market, we have flip foldable offerings from OPPO, Motorola, and Samsung. In the meantime, low-cost gadgets from brands like Nubia and TECNO have competitive pricing. We’re interested to see how a HONOR flip phone might differentiate itself.
