Jack Ma To Donate Coronavirus Kits and Face Masks To The US

Jack Ma, the co-founder of Alibaba, is donating 500,000 test kits and a million face masks to the US amid the coronavirus outbreak. In a statement, shared on twitter today, the Chinese e-commerce magnate said that the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation is ready to ship the test kits and face masks.

“Drawing from my own country’s experience, speedy and accurate testing and adequate personal protective equipment for medical professionals are the most effective in preventing the spread of the virus,” Ma said in the statement. “We can’t beat this virus unless we eliminate boundaries to resources and share our know-how and hard-earned lessons.”

The Jack Ma Foundation has not given more light to the development.

According to latest reports from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 1,629 cases of coronavirus were reported in the US and 41 deaths. About 13,000 tests have been conducted in the US. Official of CDC said that all Americans will have access to free testing.

There are more than 5,000 deaths and 136,000 confirmed cases. On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
