Kuo: Apple Is Developing a 20-Inch MacBook with a Foldable Display

According to some recent pieces of information, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is planning to debut a 20-inch MacBook with a foldable screen. Ming Chi-Kuo, the apple analyst claims that this MacBook will launch in around three years.

The recent information was shared by the analyst on X (formerly Twitter). He said that the only foldable product with a clear development timeline and schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook. According to Kuo, it is the only foldable product by Apple. He further mentioned that this foldable MacBook will enter mass production at some point in 2027. Besides this, no further details about the device were shared.

Well, this is the third time that we are hearing about the arrival of a 20-inch MacBook. In the past, the same claims were made by The Elec (Korean website) and Ross Young (display industry analyst). As far as Apple’s recent offerings are concerned, the 16-inch MacBook is the largest laptop sold by the company. Several years ago, the company offered a 17-inch MacBook Pro. However, it was discontinued in 2012.

When fully extended, the new foldable MacBook’s screen would be around 20 inches diagonally, however Kuo withheld any information regarding the specifics of the device’s design. A foldable iPhone or iPad are not anticipated anytime soon, according to Kuo, who also stated that the 20-inch MacBook is the only foldable product from Apple with a defined development timeline.
