Last Major Update For Galaxy S9 and S9+ Awaits

It is expected to be the last major update for the former flagship models: Samsung has started distributing One UI 2.1 for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. In addition to the security patch for June, there are also new functions.

One Ui 2.1 is now delivered to S9 and S9+

Last week Samsung had already provided the Galaxy Note 9 with One UI 2.1 the update drive had started in Europe. Seven days later, the S models of the same vintage are also on the program. With firmware version G96xNKSU3ETF4, Samsung is currently supplying the first owners of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ with its new operating system. In addition to new functions, this also includes the June security patch.

Samsung To Launch Galaxy S20 Lite At The Beginning Of 2020

As Sammobile writes in his message about the start of the rollout, Galaxy S9, and Galaxy S9+ will most likely receive the last major Android update from the official side with the release – Android 11 is currently no longer intended for release on the two models, Samsung usually only delivers two major updates for its smartphones. As usual, the update will be distributed in waves over the next few weeks.

One UI 2.1 with new functions

The new functions that land on S9 and S9+ include a few adjustments for the camera app. The new “Single Take” function creates short films or series of photos over 10 seconds. With the “My Filter” option, the style and color of selected photos should be replicated and saved as a separate filter option. In addition, Samsung has now made a pro mode available again for videos after the deletion in the last update with this, options such as controlling the shutter speed come back.

With AR Zone almost Samsung all AR applications together in one app, the AR emojis should now be recognized more securely and can be edited manually. The sharing of content is also adjusted with One UI 2.1 and is now supposed to work “with one tab” between Galaxy smartphones. Last but not least, the gallery app offers a new quick cropping function and is designed to better group similar images.
