Leaks: An Unknown Intel Comet Lake-S-CPU “KA” series surfaced Online

In the past few weeks, there have been a few rumors about upcoming Intel processors and Intel’s progress in switching to the 7nm process. Now price lists of as yet unknown i9-KA CPUs have appeared.

The price lists were discovered by the online gaming portal. The lists show a not yet confirmed new CPU series ending in “KA”. So far, Intel has a K and a KF series in its range. Now new processors with the ending “KA” are to be added, which are based on the Comet Lake-S design. It is therefore the tenth generation of CPUs. So far, only i9 processors have appeared.

What do the endings mean?

So far, Intel has offered CPUs with an unlocked multiplier under the name “K”. With the “KF” CPUs, the processor has deactivated integrated graphics, or the graphics unit is simply not physically present. The “KA” series now says in forums that these processors do not achieve the boost clock speeds of the main series. Either way, these Intel processors are not yet known, but they seem to be about to be launched.

The prices have appeared in an online shop of a Lithuanian retailer. The newly listed Core i9-10900KA, therefore, costs around two percent less than the current Core i9-10900K. The price level is similar for all these CPUs.

• Core i9-10900KA with a 3.7 GHz base clock for 525 euros
• Core i9-10850KA with a 3.6 GHz base clock for 485 euros
• Core i9-10700KA with a 3.8 GHz base clock for 408 euros
• Core i9-10600KA with a 4.1 GHz base clock for 278 euros

With the leaked lists, the release dates are still missing – but this is not unusual after all the hype about postponements at Intel. According to the rumor mill, however, the first samples of the new series will be released shortly. The date for this was set on August 9th. Since it is only a new series, the introduction should also take place without much media hype, which means that the new CPUs are simply released for trade.
