Lenovo plans to present a laptop with a transparent screen at MWC 2024
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is scheduled for the end of this month. According to some recent pieces of information, Lenovo is all set to introduce a transparent-screen laptop at the MWC 2024 exhibition. It is going to be a unique product on the market. The device will feature a completely transparent OLED display.
In 2010, a similar concept was presented by Samsung
From being just a concept, transparent screen technology is quickly becoming commercially viable. At CES 2010, the South Korean tech giant Samsung presented a similar concept; however, the product never launched due to high production costs. Recently, LG presented a transparent OLED screen at CES 2024. With these efforts and developments, mass production of such products could begin in the near future.
As far as Lenovo’s transparent laptop is concerned, it will feature a bezel-less design with a completely transparent display and chassis. The key components of the device are placed inside the ‘chin’ area. The whole laptop is surrounded by a thin and non-transparent frame. In addition to improving looks, Lenovo’s avant-garde design showcases the company’s dedication to stretching the limits of laptop design.
There are no details about the specific features of the laptop. However, the device will run on Windows 11, which is in line with the signature design language of the company. The device is similar to a dual-screen laptop, which is a widespread trend across the industry. Perhaps we will learn more about this device in the coming days.
