Marvel’s Wolverine: Sony shows a new story trailer for the game

Sony and Insomniac Games have released a new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine just in time for the start of San Diego Comic-Con. The video reveals many new details about the story of the PS5 exclusive game, which will be released in September, and shows who the bad-tempered anti-hero has to deal with.

The future of all mutants is at stake

The story of the action-adventure takes place in a world in which the mutants have almost all been captured or killed by the military scientist Bolivar Trask and his company Trask Industries. There is no organized resistance, only the loose collective Team X, consisting of Nathaniel Essex, Mystique, Sabretooth and Dr. Walter Langkowski, is still fighting against the threat of extinction.

Allies and enemies

The severely undermanned group can use all the help it can get, which is why they contact Wolverine, who also used to be part of Team X. In the trailer, he can initially be seen in an emotional scene with Jean Grey, who ultimately joins the mission to protect the mutants.

In addition to Trask, the heroes also have to deal with the private military organization Reavers, Omega Red and the ninja clan “The Hand”. By the way, this will also play a role in the new Spider-Man film. Just last week, the “Ain’t No Hero” trailer also confirmed Lady Deathstrike as one of the game’s main villains. Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026 for the PlayStation 5.
