MediaTek released its latest chipset – the Kompanio 1300T processor. This is the latest chipset designed by the Taiwanese chip manufacturer for computing devices and is Kompanio 820. The Kompanio 1300T is mainly for tablets and Chromebooks.
According to MediaTek, this Kompanio 1300T will offer powerful performance and a high-quality multimedia experience. It will also support 5G functions. It uses TSMC’s 6-nanometer process, features an octa-core CPU configuration composed of ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores and ARM Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The Kompanio 1300T also come with an ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
This chipset also features MediaTek’s AI processing unit (APU) with powerful performance support for various AI use cases. Some of the AI features of this chipset include an AI voice assistant and ultra-low-power voice wake-up (VoW) function.
This chip will also support a 2.5K (2560 x 1440) resolution screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This powerful chip will power up to two external displays with Full HD resolution. It will also support HDR10+ playback. This latest chip will also provide more enhancements through MediaTek’s MiraVision display technology.
Interestingly, this chipset can also power multi-cameras with up to 108MP sensors, 4K 60fps video encoding and decoding, interlaced 4K HDR video recording, multi-depth smart focus, and much more.
This new MediaTek chipset is most likely to come out in the third quarter of 2021, helping many tablet manufacturers to overcome the global chip shortage.
