MicroLED Apple Watch will arrive in late 2025

According to some recent pieces of information, Apple might debut the MicroLED display in late 2025. These claims have been made by Jeff Pu, a tech analyst. Such a display technology provides huge benefits, including improved brightness, viewing angles, and color reproduction. The images appear to be painted on the glass.

Yesterday, a Weibo leaker said that Apple’s specialized microLED display technology will be another useful upgrade for owners of the Apple Watch Ultra. Numerous sources have confirmed Apple’s intention to equip the Apple Watch Ultra with a microLED display, beginning with a January revelation from display analyst Ross Young.

Previously, Young claimed that Apple would debut the watch in 2024. However, the analyst shifted his predictions to H2 2025. In contrast to this, a report from Bloomberg suggested that the company could release it next year. According to a report from TrendForce, the microLED display will be featured on the 2026 model of the Apple Watch Ultra. The report claims that it might be due to supply chain issues. Young and Pu’s prediction of a 2025 release date, along with leaks on Weibo, indicate that the microLED Apple Watch Ultra may debut sooner than previously anticipated.

It is expected that the microLED display will measure 2.12 inches in size. It is about 10% more than the current offering with the Apple Watch Ultra. Mark Gurman reported that custom microLED displays could arrive on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac once the tech arrives at the new version of the Apple Watch Ultra. Gurman claims that the company intends to debut microLED displays on all Apple products. Some previous reports from Nikkei Asia, The Information, and DigiTimes claim similar predictions. Well, if this happens, then Apple will become less dependent on Samsung.
