Microsoft Announces Gamescom Stream

Although the trip to Cologne is also canceled this year, Microsoft remains loyal to Gamescom and opens the game fair on August 24th with its annual Xbox show. However, it remains to be seen whether there will be any real innovations in addition to updates to already known games.

After Microsoft has already fired its big “Xbox & Bethesda” fireworks in the run-up to E3 2021, the live stream that has now been announced for Gamescom 2021 is likely to be much less spectacular. It was only in June that the Redmond company gave the first glimpse of upcoming games such as Forza Horizon 5, the free-to-play multiplayer from Halo Infinite, the co-op shooter Redfall and titles such as Stalker 2, Age of Empire IV, and Starfield. It is therefore expected that Microsoft will have few new partner announcements – if at all – at the end of August.

The Xbox stream for the digitally hosted Gamescom 2021 will take place on August 24 at 7 p.m. German time and will be broadcast on the official Microsoft channels via YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and Twitter, among other things. At the same time, the Redmond-based company is pointing out the “Opening Night Live” by Geoff Keighley, which will take place on August 25th at 8 pm. The game studio Bethesda, taken over by Microsoft, is to start its mainstream on Twitch from August 26th, which will extend over several days.

Aside from the live streams, Microsoft will hold an Xbox Gamescom sale, offering console and PC games in Europe at a discount of up to 75 percent.
