Microsoft confirms the release of the “Top Gun” update For Flight Simulator

After Microsoft has already limited the release period of the Flight Simulator “Top Gun” DLC in advance, the release date has now been officially set. Just in time for the theatrical release of Top Gun: Maverick, the major update for amateur jet pilots will also be released. As the company Redmond and the responsible Asobo Studio confirm via Twitter, the free “Top Gun” DLC will be released on May 25, 2022. The exact details of the content of the update are not yet known.

The only thing that is certain so far is that players can expect even more flying fun with the F/A-18 Super Hornet. Since Microsoft speaks of an “experience”, special jet fighter missions would be conceivable. In addition, the recently released GIF also refers to aircraft carriers and the like. The Flight Simulator developers announced the new “Top Gun” update last year but had to postpone the originally planned release from November 19, 2021, to May 25, 2022. This was due to production delays on the related film, Top Gun. : Maverick. Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the action film will reach cinemas at the end of May with a delay of almost three years. With Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Miles Teller, and Glen Powell.

Another look at Flight Simulator’s roadmap

Even before the “Top Gun” DLC, the ninth World Update will be released next week, which will add a graphical shine to Microsoft’s flight simulator for the Italy and Malta regions. Another “Local Legend” aircraft will also be brought into play, which is still unknown. Instead of the Sim update that was actually expected for June, the developers are planning another World Update 10 next month. However, it is still unclear where the trip will take in the summer. The next developer update from Microsoft is expected on Friday and with it, possibly more information about the world updates and content of the “Top Gun” DLC.
