Microsoft Edge gets a New Small Feature Update

Shortly after Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge has now also released the new version 104 for users. In addition to a number of improvements, there are also innovations. We’ve already reported on the upcoming changes to safe browsing for Edge. The fact that the release for all users has already started came surprisingly quickly. With version 104 (build 104.0.1293.47), Edge is also launching an option to import data from Chrome by signing into Edge with your Google account.

We have the release notes translated for you and added at the end of the message. The Edge update fixes a number of vulnerabilities that existed in the browser’s Chromium underpinnings. Users are therefore advised to install the update to 104.0.129.47 as soon as possible.

Security related changes

So far, Microsoft has only found a few details about the vulnerability. It states: “Microsoft has released the latest Microsoft Edge Stable Channel (version 104.129.47). For more information, see the Security Update Guide. This update contains the following Microsoft Edge-specific updates: CVE-2022-33636, CVE-2022 – 33649, CVE-2022-35796.” In which quoted guide to security updates you can currently only find the list of CVE entries for the fixed security gaps. Release Notes Feature Updates

• Increase your security on the web. Enhancements to the Enhance web security option in edge://Settings/Privacy now include a new default Basic option. With this option, Microsoft Edge applies additional security protection to the less visited websites. This feature preserves the user experience for the most popular websites on the web. • Import Chrome data without Chrome on first boot. This feature allows a user to import their Chrome data by logging into their Google account during the first run of Microsoft Edge. This feature can be disabled by disabling the first experience with the HideFirstRunExperience policy or by setting AutoImportAtFirstRun to “DisabledAutoImport”.
