Microsoft Fixes Edge’s Vulnerability In a New Update

There is a new security update for Microsoft Edge. The update is recommended to all users because several vulnerabilities, some of which are classified as high risk, are fixed. The update is already available in the WinFuture download area.

The new version number is 105.0.1343.42. In line with the recently disclosed security vulnerabilities for Google Chrome, Microsoft has now also submitted a security update for Edge and provided the fix for the Chromium vulnerabilities. There are only a few reports of actively exploited vulnerabilities, but there are, so it is recommended to install the security update as soon as possible.

Google had reported a total of eleven vulnerabilities, eight of which also affect Edge, according to the Microsoft team. Details can already be found in the Security Update Guide.

Security fix

  • Advice from Google on the vulnerabilities: “Access to bug details and links may be restricted until the majority of users are provided with a fix. We will also maintain restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library from which other projects in a similar way, which have not yet been fixed”.

It says, “Microsoft has released the latest Microsoft Edge Stable Channel (version 105.0.1343.42) that integrates the latest security updates from the Chromium project.
