Microsoft Flight Simulator: This is new for beta and release version

The Microsoft Flight Simulator has received its next update. The focus is on the launch of a Pilatus Aircraft Carenado PC12 for the pilot fleet. It is considered the most successful single-engine turboprop machine. The aircraft is now available on the market.

As always, Microsoft introduces the new plane on the Xbox blog. The Carenado PC12 is a single-engine, low-wing, multi-purpose aircraft developed by Switzerland-based operator Pilatus Aircraft. The crew usually consists of one to two people, with room for up to nine passengers. The aircraft was developed in the late 1980s and made its first flight in May 1991.

It can fly up to 3,400 kilometers in a single pass and has a cruising speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour. It uses a turboprop engine with up to 1,200 hp (Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67P).

More than 1,700 copies have been made to date. According to Microsoft, this is the most successful aircraft in the class of single-engine turbine-powered aircraft. It is mainly used by regional airlines and as a cargo aircraft, but also by the military and police. There is a special version for the US Air Force. Dubbed the U-28A “Draco”, this is a versatile special operations aircraft that performs intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.

Cities update

The new plane isn’t the only update you can get recently – a new city update for Germany is also available. This includes Hanover, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, and Cologne. “Perhaps you would also like to fly over the grounds of the Cologne fair,” Microsoft writes in the announcement.

The new city update is available for free on the in-game marketplace. Incidentally, Microsoft Flight Simulator is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In November the time has come.

Beta updates

The Sim Update 10 beta test continues. The Build 1.27.17.0 has already been released at the end of August and can be tested. Microsoft would like feedback, including in the form of new bug reports to fix newly discovered issues.
