Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio Details Leaked

Microsoft will likely be releasing a new top model for its Surface lineup of mobile devices in the fall. Instead of the “Surface Book 4”, however, a new product with a new design and the possible name “Surface Laptop Studio” is to come in the future.

According to the details published on Windows Central, Microsoft is working flat out on a new flagship laptop that will be the new top of the Surface product range. Allegedly, they want to say goodbye to the Surface Book and instead introduce a new form factor with a changed design.

Detachable design might end

This next-generation device will probably be renamed so that in the future we will have to deal with a kind of “Surface Laptop Pro” or “Surface Laptop Studio”. However, it is still unclear what the new device will actually be called so that so far one can basically only speak of a new Surface Book.

So far, little details about Microsoft’s plans are known. However, it can be heard that the Redmond-based company is planning another major hardware event for the fall – probably in October. As it goes on, Microsoft is actually planning a new design for the successor to the current Surface Book, which does not have a removable display.

New design entails more powerful CPUs – 14 inch display expected

This means that the group would for the time being say goodbye to the approach of using a kind of detachable design. With the Surface Book, the most important components have so far been in the upper part behind the display, while additional components such as the keyboard, another battery, and the graphics card are built into the “base”.

By dispensing with the design with the removable keyboard base, Microsoft could, among other things, install more powerful CPUs. In addition, the group plans to use an Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics unit and a larger trackpad. In addition, there is allegedly a new display in 3: 2 format, which, with a diagonal of 14 inches, would be located exactly halfway between the previous Surface Book variants with 13 or 15-inch displays. The new panel should also offer a higher, flexible refresh rate.

In addition, it can be heard that the Surface Book 4 or Surface Laptop Pro, or Surface Laptop Studio – whatever it is ultimately called – will be offered with 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of RAM. There will also be memory variants with 256GB or 512GB and a terabyte of internal flash memory, according to the report. Windows 11 will also be used as the operating system, making the new device one of the first products with the next Windows version.
