Microsoft Surface Pro 9 And Laptop 5 May Come In October

As expected, there are first rumors about Microsoft’s planned hardware event at the beginning of October. After the first indications of the features of the Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 recently appeared, a launch date is now circulating. Like the usually well-informed Microsoft specialist “The Walking Cat” via Twitter said he claims to have heard about a Microsoft event in October. It should be ready in the second week of next month. Expect the Surface Pro9, Surface Laptop5, and some new accessories, among others.

The leaker speaks specifically of Tuesday, October 11, 2022, as the date for the presentation of the new Microsoft hardware. He also already mentions a time: the event is supposed to start at 8 p.m. German time on this day, whereby he speaks of 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).

However, there is a catch. This is what Zac Bowden of Windows Central says on Twitter that the event is actually expected for October, but he is not sure about the time and date gave by the other source. It is therefore conceivable that Microsoft will soon announce its event at a slightly different time. As far as the expected products are concerned, there is already a lot of clarity.

There are concrete indications of the presentation of the Surface Pro 9 in variants with ARM and Intel processors and the Surface Laptop 5 in sizes of 13 or 15 inches. Microsoft also has a new Surface Audio Dock and color-coordinated new mice and keyboards in the pipeline. Whether further new Surface hardware can be expected is currently still open.

Only today did new rumors surface that Microsoft is also planning a kind of gaming version of its Surface series, with talk of a 16-inch notebook that is said to be equipped with the latest Intel chips and an Nvidia graphics unit. This should be taken with great caution, however, as the source is just a dedicated website, similar to the case of the allegedly incorrect Surface Laptop 5 specs that were doing the rounds a few months ago.
