Microsoft to launch its own game streaming service

You Might be able to play games on any device at anytime 

Microsoft is reportedly developing its own game streaming service, the company has revealed on its Xbox official website. The game streaming service is becoming popular since the demand from customers is stacking up. Facebook has recently announced its dedicated page for live game streaming, Microsoft has the same rival already in VR headset.

But Microsoft seems to be developing the service as the company has announced on their website, the statement reads, “Microsoft has also introduced new innovations to push digital gaming forward, including FastStart, an innovation from Microsoft’s Machine Learning Team, and plans from Microsoft’s Gaming Cloud Team to develop a game streaming service to unlock console-quality gaming on any device.”

There are not many details about the service Microsoft is talking about, but most likely the users would be able to play Xbox one games on any device including computers, tablets, smartphone etc. or maybe on other consoles such as Play Station.

You must have seen the examples from other game developers, the way Capcom is utilizing game streaming to bring games to Nintendo Switch with Resident Evil 7.

You might have seen Valve launched its Stream Link app, which is not really a streaming service but it works somewhat similar way allowing gamers to stream their games on their computers and their phones. Facebook’s service is also not exactly a game streaming service but rather a video streaming service.

But the gaming is bringing overall innovation throughout the industry, EA is also focusing on cloud-based gaming which is almost a service like Microsoft is focusing on,

EA CEO Andrew Wilson said, once the service hits the mainstream, we promise that individuals will be able to game anywhere and anytime. While the technology isn’t “full market primetime yet,” he said it’s a promise of what EA hopes to bring to gamers in the time to come. The publisher is running a demo this week. All of its games are streaming in full HD from the cloud to multiple devices.
