Microsoft Updates Edge For Android

Microsoft has released a completely redesigned version of Edge for Android. The update now not only brings new functions that Microsoft has added but also the latest version of Chromium and thus further improvements.

Microsoft has released version 92 of the Edge web browser for Android Windows Latest reported. Version 92 is now based on the latest version of Chromium – the previous versions still use a rather old Chromium version. As a result, a number of functions were missing, such as the screenshot tool, the release of tabs, experimental flags, and a lot more. This means that Android users now receive a major feature update when they switch to the new browser.

The Chromium-based Edge 92 is compatible with Android 5.0 and newer devices and now offers new support for tab synchronization from Windows 10 in cooperation with the PC.

Send tabs to mobile devices

Previously, there was access to the browsing history from other devices if they used the same Microsoft account. With Microsoft Edge 92 it is now possible to send the tabs to Windows, macOS, and Android directly. This new tab sharing function also requires the same Microsoft account to be used on the respective devices. Previously, tab sharing was only available for desktops, now you can send tabs to mobile devices and vice versa.

The function can be called up via the menu with the three points. There you will find the “Share” button and the “Send to devices” option. Then you can see the available devices and select one. Conversely, you can find the option “Send a page to your devices” on the PC via the options menu after clicking the right mouse button.

In addition to the tab sharing tool, Microsoft Edge has also received performance improvements and support for new experimental flags. For example, users can now activate the new scroll flags to improve web browsing. Other features include the integration of Microsoft Translator, Microsoft Defender Smartscreen, a screenshot tool (via the sharing menu), and minor tweaks to the user interface. Edge 92 is available for free in the Play Store, existing users will receive the update automatically.
