Microsoft Working On Patch For Windows 11 Explorer Problems

Although Windows 11 was only rolled out two weeks ago, many problems in connection with the Redmond operating system have already surfaced. Microsoft is now testing an update to counteract the increased memory load caused by the file explorer.

A good week ago we reported that Windows 11 users were complaining about extremely high memory usage. The high memory load is said to have caused performance problems on the entire computer. The problems were probably related to the file explorer update. While the new Explorer has retained the structure of the Windows 10 version, the program is now based on the WinUI library. In addition to new symbols, this also loads more modern buttons and fluent design elements.

According to Windows Latest, Microsoft has been working on a solution for a long time to eliminate the performance problems. Last week the developers integrated some improvements into build 22454. Now the Redmond-based company has implemented further bug fixes in Insider Build 22478. Microsoft has now been able to identify who is causing the problem. The command line performed numerous unnecessary calculations when the user navigated to a directory.

Bugfix currently only available in the dev channel

Currently, only insiders registered in the dev channel have the option to install the patch. If no complications arise, the bug fix should be delivered to all users of the operating system in the near future. If the performance problems affect you too much, you should downgrade to Windows 10 in the meantime.
