Millions Of Android Devices Won’t Get Google Services From Now Onwards

Starting today, many Android devices won’t access Google services such as YouTube and Gmail. Worry not. If you have an updated phone, your device will be expected from this.

As always, Google has stopped supporting older Android devices that were running Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and earlier. According to a report, only about 0.2% to 0.3% of Android devices come under this category, making between 6 and 9 million smartphones.

It could be a cruel act for some users. But the company is also unable to support devices with OS that came a decade ago or older. Also, the company did announce this way ahead of halting the service.

According to GizChina, “devices running OS versions older than Android 3.0 will lose access to YouTube, Google Play, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Calendar and a number of other applications.” That doesn’t mean that they won’t be able to make calls or send messages. But they won’t be able to do a lot of other things.
