Miniplayer for desktop users is finally released by Spotify

Spotify’s desktop version now includes the much-needed Miniplayer, allowing you to quickly access playback while freeing up your attention for other tasks. You can adjust the music through the resizable floating window by switching between tracks, selecting playlists, and adjusting the volume. According to the firm, premium users are already starting to receive the feature.

You can open the Spotify Desktop Miniplayer by clicking on a square located just to the right of the usual playback controls on the far lower right side of your program once it becomes available. Following that click, the entire application is accompanied by a floating window. With its narrower bar and play/pause/skip track controls adjacent to the track’s information and album art, the resizable Miniplayer is a less obtrusive tool that is perfect for films.

This functionality may eliminate the need for third-party apps (such as SpotMenu, Lofi Spotify Mini Player, and Alfred Spotify Mini Player) to make up for what some customers perceived to be a significant mistake on the part of the streaming service. In 2019, a community post on Spotify asking for it received more than 3,000 votes. For a long time, Windows and macOS users have had a comparable MiniPlayer for Apple Music. Spotify took its sweet time, as it sometimes does.

According to Spotify, the Miniplayer is initially available to Premium customers, but it may ultimately make its way to those on the free plan as well. If you have a Premium subscription, you should soon see a small square toggle to the lower right of the desktop application.
