Motorola unveils ultra-slim Moto X70 6mm thick with big performance and battery

Motorola is preparing to jump on the revived trend towards ever thinner devices with its own smartphone. The Motorola Moto X70 has now been unveiled in China before soon premiering in Europe as the Edge 70. The smartphone is only six millimeters thick.

Ultra-thin yet fully featured

The Motorola With the official presentation of the X70 in China, Motorola confirmed the imminent launch of the Edge 70 in Europe and its hardware features. Unlike Samsung and Apple, Motorola does not position the Edge 70 or X70 in the upper class, but rather as a kind of premium mid-range model. The device is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and not on a high-end chip. With a maximum clock rate of 2.8 gigahertz and eight computing cores based on the ARM Cortex-A720 architecture, the SoC should still deliver more than enough performance.

Battery bigger

In the housing, which is only six millimeters thick apart from the camera module, with an aluminum frame and plastic back, there is also a 6.7-inch P-OLED display with 2712 x 1220 pixels resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hertz and up to 12 gigabytes of RAM as well as a maximum of 512 GB of internal flash memory. Motorola also includes two 50-megapixel cameras for normal and ultra-wide-angle shots as well as an unspecified macro camera. There is also a 50-megapixel sensor at the front for the selfie camera. Despite the extremely low height, Motorola uses a relatively large battery of 4800 mAh, which should ensure decent runtimes and can be charged quickly with up to 67 watts. There is even wireless charging with up to 15 watts on board.
