With the new iOS 11 update, iPhone users could now drive safely. How? The iOS 11 is much smarter than its predecessors and automatically mutes all notifications while it detects an iPhone user is driving a car.
This new iOS 11 update is going to save many lives while using a smartphone on a drive. The number of accidents due to using a phone while driving are increasing at an alarming rate. And to reduce such fatalities, iPhone has incorporated a feature of Do Not Disturb While Driving.
While the “Do Not Disturb While Driving” is all manual, this feature detects when you are driving and put your iPhone on mute as your cars start picking up its pace.
In 2014, around 404 deaths were reported in the US all related to the use of a phone while they victims were on the go. According to a details report on road accidents, around 33,000 injuries were noticed during the year on road accidents.
Talking about the iOS 11 updates, Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering said:
