New iOS and Android games: Netflix continues to expand its gaming area

To counter the declining number of subscribers, Netflix is ​​investing not only in new films and series but also in games. The streaming service for smartphone users has announced four new titles, expanding its offering to more than 20 free mobile games. The American company was initially ridiculed for its ambitions in the gaming sector, but now there is a certainly added value for Netflix customers.

While the library is still limited to indie titles, some of which are underrated, the lack of advertising seems particularly popular with casual gamers. Netflix completely waives ads, fees, or in-app purchases in its games. There are still three games available and a fourth will follow in the coming week.

The reboots are Dragon Up (East Side Games), Moonlighter (11 Bit Studios), Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt (HandyGames), and Exploding Kittens (Exploding Kittens Digital). The latter can be downloaded in the Netflix app from May 31, 2022. In between movies and series, users will find the Netflix Games tab, which leads to detailed descriptions and a path to the respective app stores for Apple iOS and Google Android. The new games will be announced as follows.

Dragon Up (East Side Games)

Collect and hatch rare dragons and help them regain their magic in this colorful and beautifully animated single-player adventure game. Save the kingdom by discovering each dragon’s unique traits, personalities, and rewards. Expand your kingdom by unlocking new lands and exotic habitats.

Moonlighter (11 Bit Studios)

This adventure – our first game from Poland – combines the best of both worlds: during the day you run a shop in an idyllic village, at night you eliminate monsters and solve mysteries. In this action RPG, you are Will, a brave shopkeeper who dreams of feats. During the day you are your own boss. You list items for sale, carefully set prices, manage your gold reserves, hire helpers and work on upgrades for your store.

Townsmen – A Rebuilt Kingdom (HandyGames)

Running a kingdom can be quite difficult. With this mobile version of the well-known strategy game – our first game from Germany – you can take over. Start with a small village and develop it into a huge medieval metropolis. Pristine and diverse lands await you and your settlers in need of food, shelter, and entertainment.

Exploding Kittens (Exploding Kittens Digital)

Get your catnip ready and play the popular card game Exploding Kittens in single player or with up to five friends in multiplayer. Draw as many cards as you can and do your best to avoid or neutralize the deadly cats… or the dynamite will go off. In this game of chance, players draw cards until someone draws an exploding kitten and it flies into the air.
