Nintendo Switch Online: New N64 Classic Releases April 15

With Mario Golf, Nintendo is announcing the next retro game that will be available to Switch owners with an active online membership and Expansion Pass from April 15th. In addition to NES and SNES (Super Nintendo) classics, the Japanese company is expanding its portfolio of N64 games that can be played in the appropriate emulator on the Nintendo Switch. to appear.

While titles like Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Lylat Wars, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time have already won retro fans, F-Zero X and Majora’s Mask recently celebrated their “premiere” on the popular hybrid console. Now Nintendo is also announcing the official launch of Mario Golf on April 15, 2022.

The classic Mario golf game returns

Mario Golf 64 laid the foundation for the golf game series in September 1999, although similar NES and Game Boy titles starring Mario had previously been released. However, the later games for the GameCube, the Game Boy Advance, the Nintendo 3DS, and of course Mario Golf: Super Rush for the Nintendo Switch also build on Mario Golf. As in many Mario games, the multiplayer mode is what makes this classic so appealing.

As described at the beginning, online membership and the expansion pass are required to download Mario Golf (N64). Pokemon Snap and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards are also coming soon. In addition to the Nintendo 64 classics, players will have access to online multiplayer, cloud saves, and retro games from the days of the NES, SNES, and Sega Mega Drive. Also included is content such as the Happy Home Paradise add-on for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the booster track pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The costs are 39.99 euros per year.
