Nokia introduces the new Flip phone with support for FM radio

Foldable phones, rollable smartphones, or flip phones. All such technologies are no new to us. The different smartphones are differentiated based on their internal as well as external features. Alongside foldable and rollable smartphones, a new flip phone is on its way.

The latest flip phone got introduced by HDM Global. But sadly, it is not a foldable phone. Rather it is a basic feature phone.

Nokia 2780 Flip is the new flip phone introduced by HDM Global.  It comes with an old clamshell design. Additionally, it has a T9 keyboard and no touch screens. Additionally, the new Flip phone has the following features:

• a 2.7” TFT display on the inside
• a second display with a 1.77” diagonal on the outside
• one 5MP camera with fixed focus and an LED flash
• powered by Qualcomm 215 chipset
• a quad-core CPU running at 1.3 GHz
• an X5 LTE modem with peak downlink speeds of 150 Mbps
• no support for VoLTE and RTT [RTT: real-time texting; that allows sending messages while on call]
• 512MB internal storage
• 4GB RAM
• runs on KaiOS 3.1
• FM Radio
• Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support
• Support for MP3
• 1,450 mAh battery
• T9 keyboard

The battery of the flip phone is removable. Though, removable batteries are a rare thing these days. Furthermore, the internal storage of 512MB and 4GB RAM looks like too much. Since a flip phone does not require so much memory. This feature is a mix-up.

Given the features of the Nokia 2780 Flip, it looks similar to Nokia 2760 Flip. There is only one major difference between the two Flip phones i.e., support for FM radio. Nokia 2780 Flip supports FM radio while Nokia 2760 Flip does not. Additionally, Nokia 2780 Flip is available in two distinct colors i.e., blue and red. Furthermore, the Flip phone is available at a price of $90. The sales for Nokia 2780 Flip are about to begin on November 15 in the United States.
