Nvidia brings Fortnite back to the iPhone & iPad

One of the most popular games is going into closed beta on Apple devices – sort of. We’re talking about Fortnite. The game was removed from the App Store due to a legal dispute between Apple and Epic Games. Thanks to the Nvidia GeForce Now detour, it’s now back on the iPhone. As a gamer, it is difficult to get around the topic of “Fortnite”. The game is one of the most played games in recent years and has an incredibly large fan base.

Therefore, it was a big problem when the game was removed from the Apple App Store due to a conflict between Apple and developer Epic Games. From next week you can play Fortnite on Apple devices again – but only via a small detour. The battle royale shooter appears on Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, called GeForce Now. The closed beta for the mobile port of Fortnite will start there next week, where you can make life difficult for other players using touch controls. This closed beta is not just limited to Apple devices. Users inside Android devices also can enjoy the new control. In the previous smartphone version, you could connect a mouse and keyboard to the cell phone to gamble, which will no longer be possible.

How can I play Fortnite now?

GeForce Now is loaded via the Safari browser of iPhones or iPads and does not use the App Store. This makes it possible to play Fortnite directly in the browser. However, you must pay attention to a few things. Firstly, it is a closed beta. That means you don’t necessarily get access. It’s just a chance to get involved. On the other hand, there is a somewhat larger problem with the offer itself. You can at any time on the Nvidia website create an account and be put on a waiting list. There is no prioritization between a subscription and gamers without a subscription. However, your playing time will be significantly limited if you decide against the 49.99 euro subscription. With the “free-to-play” edition, you can only play for one hour a day and run the risk of getting bogged down in a queue.

With the “Priority” version, you can try mobile Fortnite for up to 6 hours a day and have priority access to queues. Also, the game is streamed in better graphics via cloud service. However, 49.99 euros per month is also a proud sum. But here’s the gamer tip: Since the game is entering closed beta, it shouldn’t be long before open beta starts. So if you exercise your patience, you should be able to participate.
