On your smartwatch, Google Wallet now displays airline boarding passes

Last year, in October, the tech giant Google introduced a new feature to the Google Wallet app that enables users to share their boarding passes. As of now, the smartwatch version of the app is set to receive a boarding pass-related update. It seems that consumers can now view their airline boarding pass on their smartwatch with Google Wallet for Wear OS.
In accordance with the information shared by 9To5Google, a notification with a “View Pass” prompt will appear on screens of devices that are based on Wear OS 3 or above. “Boarding pass for your flight to [this airport]” appears in the message, and it is said that selecting View Pass will display a QR code. At the gate, the user can then scan the QR code on their wrist.
The upgrade reportedly went live for the outlet yesterday. Another report from a user in the US claims that their Pixel Watch 2 displayed their United boarding pass. Well, this is not a major update but a nice one that is more than welcome. With this new feature on the Wear OS version of the Google Wallet, users can now seamlessly access their boarding passes ever than before.
The new update is followed by the news that soon digital ID support on the Google Wallet app will be expanded to more states in the upcoming months. The news was shared by a Google executive.
