One UI 6.1 will look after your smartphone’s battery even more

Many of the Galaxy S24’s features and specifications have been leaked over the past few months, despite Samsung having not yet made an official announcement. One UI 6.1, which is based on Android 14, is expected to be included with the Galaxy S24 series when it launches next month. It is rumored to be packed with AI-powered features, one of which has already leaked. It looks after the battery life of your phone.

Samsung phones now have even more battery-saving features thanks to One UI 6.1

Tarun Vats has leaked something fresh that indicates One UI 6.1 has further battery-saving functions. Whereas the Adapt mode charges the phone to 80% and then pauses until it’s time for you to wake up, the Basic mode stops charging at 100% and then resumes at 95%. This feature is already present on several other Android handsets. The Max mode stops charging the battery at 85%, which is generally seen to be beneficial to the battery’s health.

Battery Protection Features in Samsung One UI 6.1

Some of these battery preservation technologies may be driven by on-device AI that learns your usage habits and acts appropriately. If these are the only battery protection features in One UI 6.1, it is only lacking the battery health percentage feature seen on all iPhones. It displays the remaining capacity of the battery compared to when the gadget was new.

The Galaxy S24 will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S24+ will be powered by a 4,900mAh battery. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will employ the same 5,000mAh battery as its predecessors, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Because all three phones are likely to be powered by more power-efficient CPUs, their battery life may be improved.
