OnePlus is rolling out the latest update to two of its smartphones – the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T. Previously, these devices received the February 2021 security patch and not they are getting the April 2021 security patch.
The previous rollout was a bit late when the smartphone received the February 2021 security patch in March. The new security patch comes with the updated Android security patch along with some fixes and improvements.
Like always, the new update will be released in batches. As recommended, do wait for the auto-update notification instead of a manual checkup.
It is pertinent to mention here that Android 11 has been available on Pixel devices for around 8 months. So for the OnePlus 6 series, it is quite late. But better late than never.
Having said that, we are uncertain when these devices would actually start receiving the updates. And since the OnePlus 7 series received the OxygenOS 11 update during the last month, we may have to wait a bit more. Currently, the OnePlus 6 series running the OxygenOS 10.3.10 version, which is based on Android 10 OS.
