There have been sequential rumors about the launch of OnePlus’s next flagship dubbed “OnePlus 6” but the company’s CEO has spoken about the launch date of new OnePlus 6 and confirmed the month in which the device is likely to be launched.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in an interview to CNET has confirmed that the successor of OnePlus 5T could arrive in the market as early as June 2018.
The previous OnePlus 5T came with Snapdragon 835 Octa-core chip so the newer model would not be less than that, OnePlus 6 would definitely come with Snapdragon 845 chipset and CEO also confirms that in a statement. But no further details were provided about the official unveiling of the handset.
OnePlus have been playing around with the 5T so far by launching different variants such as; Lava Red color OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5T Sandstone white, in order to keep pushing the sales until the big brother arrives. OnePlus also announced Face Unlock features for the previous model OnePlus 5 to keep it going with the new gimmicks.
Lau also said in a statement that he is not sure that the company will launch another model after the launch of OnePlus 6 during 2018. By the statement of CEO, it seems the company is going to follow what it did previously, launching variants in the same model for the later months in 2018, by simply adding features, software updates, color variants or limited editions.
OnePlus has successfully negotiated with carriers in Europe in order to sell their phones directly to European consumers through carrier options, CEO said they are also open for US carrier to partner up with OnePlus.
